..did they lose someone, something in life,or they lost themselves in the crowd...

Horn sound everywhere, standstill vehicles, I am sitting in one of them on the way to office, its morning 10.30 and not many good things happening around. Its old Airport Road on the way to Whitefield,i.e., HAL road, and the road is deprived of free space, as even footpath is filled with bikes, and both the road and humans are striving for fresh air. This is the present day scene which occurs daily in Bangalore, sorry Bengaluru,The garden city of India :)
We are all used to slow moving traffic, which is probably unavoidable nowadays.I remember of the small rat like animals in th movie MUMMY1 moving in a dense pack when I see our vehicles in road, for a moment leave that and lets enter our vehicle KSRTC Volvo, which has artificial fresh air, and the prices are on par with the auto rikshaws, not many people enter this bus due to its high price.Somehow I get seat everytime and it takes around 50 mins to reach our office.I do keep listening to music, putting on earphones as many of the passengers do and passtime.
One day I saw a baby staring at me,in the bus infront of me,wow!! what big eyes it had got, light brown and shining.I felt like capturing its look in my mobile but couldnt do as I thought how silly it will be if others see that.Later it smiled and started playing with the seat and its mother's chain.I too kept on following its actions and things like hide and seek with its eyes.I was remembered of my good times when I used to play with my relatives children and play with them. This went on for around 15 mins and everything was like a constant, neither the bus moved, nor the time, nor my neighbouring vehicles.Bus somehow reached next stop and the family got down, and suddenly no child in the bus. Then I simply turned around and observed and all the things, everything was so pale so lifeless, and so boring till my journey was completed.
From then, daily I started observing all people along with me and their activities too... how artificial everything seemed, how lifeless,so blue...
The scene everyday would be: Almost all of them are software engineers going to work, some of them engaged in phones, some of them listening to music, some of them sitting simply having a serious look and thinking something very seriously, may be about office or their household activities, others expression who are standing will be like they are bit by snake and they are going to hospital in frustration.Taking all in common-everyone looked so dull, so silent, did they lose someone, something in life,or are they going in a batch to fight against Pakistan in the border, nothing!!!! They are simply going to their routine-homes,thats their offices where they spend most of their time in a day.
Lets give it a simple serious thought,Just let me give you an assignment. Tomorrow while coming to office, from your home till your office, whomsoever you meet or see, just count the number of smiles against number of serious faces. I dont think so you will get even a couple of smiling faces. Now smiling faces doesnt mean they have to be laughing.Just the faces which doesnt have the anger on life, any serious thoughts going on,or the helplessness. The faces which are filled with satisfaction, contentment or filled with happy emotions, just like children or just now married couple or friends having fun.
We,like most of them are involved in serious thought, dont know why we dont live in that moment and enjoy our present things. We keep on thinking about all the serious things in the world and unfortunately value or miss only our school, college days and think we had fun only in our past.We should enjoy our each and every moment. If you are listening to songs, just relax and forget everything, put cell in silent mode.Smile at everyone even if they think we are mad, live every moment.Have fun at your workplace, canteen, sit with your teammates and have lunch, share food, share thoughts, get close to everyone, live like a small child.Crack jokes on anything possible, praise yourself, love all, help all whomever you meet.Dont keep on thinking SE is a boring lifeless profession where we all are treated as employee numbers, all professions are equally tuff and boring.Just think of a policemen job where you can take off very rarely, and not at all on government holidays,If you get irritated by traffic, think of life of a traffic police, think of jobs where there is no respect in society. If you have any other dream ,go and achieve it but dont spoil, scold or dislike your position.
Let us all think for a minute, its all about being happy and leading a complete life. Enjoy, enjoy everything, may be traffic also, not like people driving cars scolding 2-Wheelers and vice-versa.... Let the number of smiles increase everywhere.Take only positive things from everywhere and neglect negative things, even from this article also :) :)

Nice food for thought for the software pros!!! I'd never observed faces so seriously. I'll try to do from now on :)

Good thought Gowtham. I am already adapted what you are suggesting to some extent. Rather than scolding scolding things, we should find ways to improve it. For example rather than scolding traffic, travel in off peak hours, if you leave home at 8, you can see how empty it would be Or find alternate road, alternate means of transport. Everyone will scold something as its the easy job to do but adopting something to improve will not be done by anyone...

I always wondered why are we paid so high! Our work is not at all tough. We even get paid for doing nothing, right?
